Popcorn Nutrition Facts: A Healthy, Low-Calorie Snack?


We eat popcorn at the movies, on our couches, and at fairs we attend. But did you know how healthy it was? During the Great Depression, popcorn was one of the best of staples to have access to for its qualities.

Popcorn is a whole grain. With that fact comes all of the benefits and nutrients that any whole grain contains. Be it vitamins or iron, this low-calorie snack is more than something to munch on. The antioxidants will keep you young and off the couch rather than on it.

Americans tend to flavor their popcorn with an abundance of butter and flavoring salts. Additives are what has given popcorn a bad name. With the natural sweetness of kernel corn, there is no need. Let the nutrients in!
